I recently had the honor of accepting the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) 7-Seals Award on behalf of the agency.
We were nominated for this award by Brigade Command Sergeant Major, Rich Cruickshank. The award recognizes the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services' (NDCS) leadership and initiative in the support of the women and men who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve. Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) was nominated, but not selected for the 2018 Freedom Award. I will be presenting OCC with a certificate from the ESGR.
We are very fortunate to employ many women and men that are serving in National Guard or Reserves, as well as our many team members that have military service – or someone in their family that is connected to the military. The agency’s support of our team members in the National Guard and Reserves is one way we can say thank you for the sacrifices made to keep our country safe.
The 7-Seals Award will be hung in the foyer of the Staff Training Academy.
