On June 16, at the Correctional Peace Officer Foundation (CPOF) PROJECT 2000 XXIX in Houston, TX, members of the NDCS Honor Guard were presented a Lifetime Sponsorship plaque for the Nebraska State Penitentiary (NSP).  During the event, NDCS Honor Guard team presented another donation of $5,000.00 to the CPOF for Lifetime Sponsorship on behalf of the Lincoln Correctional Center (LCC) in honor of Warden Fred Britten.  This plaque will be presented at PROJECT 2000 XXX in Louisville, KY on Saturday June 8, 2019. 

In addition, during the Assault Survivor Luncheon at PROJECT 2000 XXIX, Corporal Jerry Brittian assigned to the Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) was presented with an award from the CPOF for his bravery during an event on May 1, 2017 while off duty that claimed the life of Deputy Sheriff Mark Burbridge of Pottawattamie County Sheriff's office in Iowa.
