Driving down any Nebraska road, you’re sure to spot a product made by CSI: Nebraska license plates. These, along with a wide variety of goods and services, are produced by around 500 incarcerated men and women within NDCS facilities who are employed by CSI, the 100% self-supporting correctional industries program for NDCS. Through their work, these individuals develop marketable job skills and a positive work ethic that help them become productive members of the community upon their release.

Today we take a look at the CSI headquarters, located in Lincoln and home to administration, sales, marketing, accounting, purchasing, quality control, manufacturing and warehouses. At CSI headquarters, around 25 incarcerated men and women work in inventory, assembly, delivery, business and sales. Customers can view a wide variety of CSI products in the building’s showroom. On-site warehouses hold supplies and serve as the destination for products produced in facility shops before they are loaded on CSI trucks for customer delivery.
