CCC-L women's unit receives design award
It’s #throwbackthursday and we’re looking back to 2019 when the new 160-bed female living unit at the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln (CCC-L) opened, providing a safe facility for women to positively transition back into our community.
Recently, Brad Hall and team received the Dewberry Justice Segment’s award for the CCC-L expansion design. They also won the highly competitive internal Chairman’s Award for Innovation, which recognizes a creative project that has made a difference in the community.
In his acceptance presentation, Brad highlighted the trauma-informed approach to the facility, its focus on rehabilitation, and the design features that make it unique. The female living unit features case management work spaces, classrooms, personal laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor recreation areas and an outdoor playground for children. Additional visitation space allows women to reconnect with family members and friends who will support them post-release. #MakeADifference #Reentry
