TSCI inmate death
September 24, 2026 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Michael McGuire #35216, age 77, died today at a local hospital. He was incarcerated at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI).
McGuire’s sentence began on August 26, 1983. He was serving a 235-year and 18-month to 463-year sentence out of Douglas, Johnson and Lancaster Counties for charges including first degree sexual assault, robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, escape, assault on a peace officer/department of correctional services employee, use of a firearm to commit a felony, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and possession of firearm by a fugitive/felon.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
