We’re grateful to have team members who are committed to both compassion and excellence. A shining example is Lori Palik, director of nursing at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC). Lori was awarded the State Impact Award from the Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCA) for her role in developing the hospice care volunteer program. This program engages peers within RTC to provide companionship and emotional support, assist with daily activities, and stand vigil with terminally ill patients to ensure they are not alone in their final moments.

This is the highest honor NHPCA awards, recognizing individuals or programs that have made a significant and lasting impact on end-of-life care in Nebraska. Congratulations, Lori!
