A large part of successful reentry is finding employment that both meets the financial needs of the household, and is meaningful to the worker.
The Omaha Correctional Center (OCC) recently held a career fair to help facilitate post-release employment. Eight organizations were given a first-hand chance to meet the talented incarcerated individual workforce within NDCS, and recent graduates of the Now, Next, Later program were given access to these employers. They were able to practice interview and communication skills in a real-world setting and gain exposure to careers and industries they might not have previously considered, building connections, confidence and hope about post-release opportunities.
