The Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) recently welcomed guest speaker Cherie Bender, who returned with a new purpose and a powerful story of transformation.
Cherie shared her journey from being impacted by the justice system to becoming an entrepreneur and creating Georgia’s House of Hope, a home providing support and hope for women as they transition beyond incarceration.
Brea Worthington-Ross, a former social worker and creator of the program Lyfe Changes, joined the conversation, sharing tools focused on crisis intervention and community support. Through hands-on activities and a deeper look at the “Three Faces” concept, Brea encouraged participants to explore how perspective, choices, and support can influence their journey.
