At the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), our #People are our greatest asset, and Agency Recruiter Jonah Pfingsten plays a big part in helping to bring great candidates to our team.
Jonah has worked in recruiting since graduating college in 2018, and has been with NDCS for almost two years. His role centers on candidate engagement, regularly calling and texting interested individuals to help them find the right fit, as well as reaching out to potential candidates on platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and Handshake, to connect about current openings.
As career fair season approaches, he focuses on making sure he and his team are prepared for events, spending time in-person with candidates and answering questions.
If he had to choose one part of his role as his favorite, Jonah says it would be getting out in the community, connecting with people at career fairs and networking events, and sharing all of the great things happening and opportunities available at NDCS.
Fun fact: he cannot count the number of times people have stopped him to mention how much he resembles Jack Black!
