Dayne Urbanovsky serves as the director of strategic communications for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), where she leads the agency’s internal and external communications strategy. Her team is responsible for media relations and storytelling across multiple platforms—ensuring NDCS’s mission, values, and impact are communicated with clarity and purpose.
Before joining NDCS in 2020, Urbanovsky built a communications career spanning multiple industries, including healthcare, manufacturing and transportation.
She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), holding a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a focus on integrated media communications. She also earned a graduate certificate in public relations and social media from UNL and holds the Advanced Public Information Officer credential from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
