Dayne Urbanovsky serves as the director of strategic communications for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), providing leadership for the agency’s internal and external communications. She oversees media relations, strategic leadership messaging, and multi‑platform storytelling that align NDCS’s communications with its mission and organizational goals.
Urbanovsky joined NDCS in 2020, bringing communications experience from healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation. This cross‑industry background informs her strategic approach to public sector communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational storytelling.
She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a focus on integrated media communications. She also completed a graduate certificate in public relations and social media and holds the Advanced Public Information Officer credential from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
