Growth is one of the NDCS values, and Training Specialist Mary Jo Bean is a stellar example of this value lived out every day on the job. For her efforts, she received the agency’s Excellence in Mentoring Award at the NDCS annual awards ceremony. 

Not only does Mary Jo guide the next generation of NDCS teammates as they complete pre-service training, but she also plays an invaluable role in preparing instructors. She encourages new instructors to grow their skills and confidence, makes herself available to answer their questions, and challenges them to reach their full potential.
