April 12, 2023 (Omaha, Neb.) – Today, Chance Ryks #84713, age 35, was transported by EMS from his work location in the community to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting the investigation into his death.

Ryks was incarcerated at the Community Corrections Center-Omaha (CCC-O). His sentence began on October 17, 2016. He was serving an eight to 16-year sentence for second degree assault out of Sarpy County.

The cause of death has not yet been determined. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
