December 30, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – A new round of grants will ensure that more services are available to those who are releasing from prison. Awardees, announced by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), the Division of Parole Supervision (Parole) and the Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation (Probation), are funded through the Vocational and Life Skills (VLS) program.

December 22, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – An inmate at the Reception and Treatment Center (RTC) assaulted a staff member, resulting in a serious* injury. The incident happened on December 20, 2022 inside a pantry office located on the unit.

The inmate was verbally aggressive to the staff person and punched him in the head. The injured staff person deployed a burst of oleoresin capsicum (OC), which accidently hit a second staff person in the head and arm. The second staff member managed...Read more

December 16, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Keith Duckett #213082 did not return to the facility tonight from his job in the community.

Duckett started his sentence on April 19, 2021. He was sentenced to four to 10 years on charges out of Douglas County that include third degree domestic assault, theft and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. Duckett has a...Read more

December 11, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Robert Weindorff #214465, age 47, died on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Community Hospital in McCook. He was incarcerated at the Work Ethic Camp (WEC).

Weindorff started his sentence February 2, 2022. He was serving a sentence of three years to 10 years and 45 days for charges out of Buffalo County that included possession and distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

December 9, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – Isaac Serrano-Dominguez #213856, age 20, died on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started March 2, 2021. He was serving a four to five year sentence on charges out of Douglas County including accessory to first degree assault and robbery.

December 1, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Authorities have been notified about an inmate missing from the Community Corrections Center – Lincoln (CCC-L). Richard Reynolds #86969 left his work location in Waverly early this morning. When staff members from the facility went to look for him, they found the monitoring device he had been wearing in a parking lot near 148th and Cornhusker Highway.

November 28, 2022 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Necdet Canbaz #52671, age 70, died on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started July 9, 1999. Canbaz was serving a life sentence on charges out of Douglas County that included first degree murder and use of a firearm to commit a felony.

November 23, 2022 (Tecumseh, Neb.) – The Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI) is taking another step toward resuming a normal operational schedule. The facility will increase inmate movement on the weekends – a move that will begin Saturday, November 27.
