NDCS COVID-19 DATA
Updated 2.05.2021
This information reflects testing and results for individuals incarcerated within NDCS. Numbers are updated every Friday.
Consistent with the community standard of care afforded all Nebraskans through TestNebraska, men and women in NDCS are able to be tested through this program. Participation is completely voluntary. Additionally, testing of inmates is conducted when medically indicated, due to work release requirements, as a result of close contact with a COVID-19 patient or prior to a medical procedure.
TESTING
This is the number of tests administered by NDCS within its 10 facilities. It is possible that individuals have been tested multiple times for a variety of reasons, and possibly, in different facilities.

CONFIRMED CASES
These numbers represent individuals who have been confirmed to have COVID-19 and identifies their current status. The number of active cases may include individuals who tested positive, recovered and tested positive again at a later date. As such the total of active, recovered and deaths may be greater than the total number of confirmed cases.

| Total Active Cases | Total Recovered Cases | Total Deaths |
|---|---|---|
| 67 | 893 | 6 |
(9 additional cases occurred among those who are sentenced to NDCS, but are housed in a county correctional facility. This number is not included in the number of tests administered, the number of individuals tested or the number of active cases in NDCS facilities.)
ACTIVE CASES BY FACILITY
Individuals are counted where they reside on the date of the weekly update. They may have tested positive at one facility and subsequently moved to a different facility for treatment, monitoring or cohorting. The number of active cases may include individuals who tested positive, recovered and tested positive again at a later date. As such the total of active, recovered and deaths may be greater than the total number of confirmed cases.
