Shaun Settles was named acting deputy director - programs in January 2023. His position includes oversight of the community corrections facilities as well as the Work Ethic Camp (WEC) and the Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW). Settles also manages classification and transportation, volunteers, non-clinical programming, reentry services and quality assurance.

Settles began his career with NDCS in 1993 as a corrections officer at the former Lincoln Correctional Center. Since then, he has filled a number of roles, including sergeant, lieutenant, captain, major assistant warden and warden. Most recently, he served as warden at the Community Correctional Center – Omaha.

Settles earned a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
